World Street Photo Awards 2025 – a runner up award!

I don’t enter that many competitions because there’s typically an entry fee, but sometimes Instagram ads are just too persuasive. I saw one a couple of weeks ago for the World Street Photo Awards and thought I’d give it a shot. I’d taken some of my favourite photos on a recent trip to New York, so I entered one in the Black and White category and one in Transport.

The winners were announced and the following photo of mine was chosen as runner up in the Transport category!

I’m really rather chuffed! I take photos purely for my own enjoyment and creative challenge, but it’s so nice when you get positive feedback, be that an Instagram like or comment, or a bit of recognition in a photo comp like this. Definitely a big motivator to keep getting out there, practicing and trying to be that little bit better every day.
